Bridging the Gap Between Healthcare and Transportation
Mindi Knebel is the Founder and CEO of Kaizen Health, a HIPAA compliant, data-driven logistics platform which connects healthcare and transportation.
Mindi's personal interest in healthcare transportation came out of a family need.
Mindi's aunt was forced to move into a nursing home after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 53. She was capable of living on her own, but she was unable to arrange transportation to her many necessary physical therapy appointments. Mindi's mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and she needed family assistance to make her treatments because they rendered her unable to drive.
As Mindi researched solutions for her family, she discovered problems and inefficiencies throughout the industry that she realized impacted families everywhere. She couldn't help but try to do something about it!
“My mother-in-law had all the resources a person would hope to have, but during treatment she couldn’t drive and depended on family to get back and forth to her appointments,” said Mindi. “Not everyone has a support system or good options. It really opened up my eyes to the problem.” said Mindi.
Kaizen Health is dedicated to developing the technology and process to improve the healthcare experience for all involved, increasing access to patients and giving back valuable staff hours to healthcare providers.
While Kaizen Health started by addressing transportation needs for healthcare patients, Mindi’s long-term goal is to address other logistical challenges that impact health, including food and isolation.
Mindi is a successful entrepreneur who combined a passion for helping people, a passion for business start-ups, and a solution to a problem into a succesful business that's making a real difference in the quality of people's lives!
