The construction teams have been hustling and 1449 S Michigan has passed its first round of inspections with flying colors. Drywall is going up. Plumbing, electrical and mechanical is on schedule. Furniture, fixtures and finishes have been ordered. Our new home is becoming a reality before our eyes. We've encountered multiple challenges along the way, but we have a great team of professionals in place who've overcome each challenge and strategized to use those challenges to the best advantage for the space and our planned operations.
We've been especially excited to connect with a family member of the original founders of Vee-Jay Records and have his full support and blessing on our project. We were pleased to share with him some of our plans to aesthetically honor the history of Vee-Jay Records in the space and carry on the spirit of entrepreneurship that made them at one time the largest black-owned record company in the world.
We plan to kick off our launch of Mox.E Coworking and Overflow Coffee with two special events (details to be announced) this coming December. We will of course be mindful of Covid restrictions and the safety of our employees, clients and guests (virtual event is likely), but we are looking forward to celebrating with you.
